Yesterday we were walking Dali at Piedmont Park and we took him to the small dogs section of the Park and we saw this beautiful Brussels Griffon named Lola with his master, a really nice girl with whom we started talking about our four legged friends while the two of them were sniffing each other’s butts and she told us how she got her pet. Well, she said that she got Lola at the Puppy Head Start organization that is managed by Beth, a great Human Being who takes cares of lots and lots of puppies that have been rescued by ots her non profit organizations. So, as soon as we got home after a day at the Park we went on line and checked their website and it seem that Beth is doing a tremendous job and we think that is worth it spreading the word about her and her organization. We will be taking a trip up to their facilities pretty soon and an update on this post should be expected then. Meanwhile, you are invited to check them out and see how wonderful they are… Oh, and by the way, Dali wants a Brussels Griffon as his brother or sister…
Even though I have not been at their facilities and having learned from them online I decided to blog about them and their work because it just is amazing. A group of great people working unconditionally to try and make Chihuahuas happy, that says a lot about them. To me they deserve the recognition, help and support that anyone can give them. I mean they are dedicating time and effort to rescue Chihuahuas and Chihuahua mixes, caring for their wellness, searching for qualified loving homes to adopt them and taking them out of the misery some heartless humans can put them through… Bravo for them and all of those who work hard every day to make a dog happier, healthier and loved…
Check out this great Chihuahua Rescue and Transport Association, you might feel prompted to make a much needed donation…
And keeping up with our duty of spreading the word about our beloved canines that are in need of a loving home, we found on the net the web site of the Atlanta Pet Rescue and Adoption where anyone can check out the pet that they currently have for adoption, sponsor a pet and make donations to this great entity that works to protect and give a better life to our pets when they are neglected, abused or not taken care of.
Check it out, their work is really amazing; and while you are at it please, please check out Caramello story; is really heart warming, and feel free to sponsor him in his journey to a healthier life.
What can we say, we’ve had the stuffed Kermit for the longest time until it reached Dali’s playfull mood… there you have the results…
I have decided to get back to our blog and start posting in a regular basis. In order to post interesting articles and comments some research had to take place… and it did and I have to say that it paid off big time. I have come accross the LifeLine Animal Project of Atlanta and can’t even begin to describe the marvelous job they are doing for rescue pets by promoting homeless pets adoption, providing low cost spay and neuter services and working with local shelters so every dog and cat can be guaranteed a good life in a caring environment. There are some remarkable human biengs involved in this project and we from our tiny little places in the cyber space (this blog and our beloved www.becauseofdali.com) want to honor them, praise the work they do every day and let as many people as possible know about them. There are events coming up to benefit the Project (find them HERE), there is also the LINT ROLLER PARTY coming back for the 4th consecutive year to benefit LifeLine Animal Project, volunteers and donations are needed to help our most loyal of friends have the quality of life they deserve and we all must be willing to help any way we can, so; there, this is our little homage to the Project and everyone involved in it. Thank you for all your hard work. We are going to keep spreading the word about you; the world needs tons of more places like you. And that is what I consider a great come back posting for our blog, don’t you?
Having a dog in your family can be really rewarding, fun and exciting but only if you have come to a serious decision and you know for a fact that everyone in the house is ready for one. Any pet requires attention, time and financial support in order to keep them healthy and living a great life. No one wants to make a dog miserable (or any other animal for that matter) so you should consider all the pros and con of adding a pet to the family and once you have decided that you, the house and everyone in it are ready to bring a four legged new BFF in your life then is time to consider what king of dog best suits your lifestyle. The needs of every breed should be the first priority to consider. Consult with a vet the characteristics of the breed and compare them to your everyday life will make a dog-master perfect match. In this really nice article I found great inspiration and advice about the facts that have to be considered when getting a dog, read it here for more info…
I have received the following message and I thought that it would be great if everybody out there knew about these friends in need.
I was just contacted by the Chihuahua Rescue Group of Georgia and they are begging for foster homes for rescued chihuahuas (they only have 4) and people to volunteer to transport chihuahuas.

I stumbled upon this amazing story and I couldn’t help but go right into my blog and share with everyone who reads it. I’m still amazed by the stories I find on the internet and there are some that need to be spread and known so we as humans can keep discovering that from our best friends we can learn how to become better humans. Ironic, isn’t it? Well here you go; see how a dog can help us keep our spirits up even in times of adversity.
Here is something I found that I think is very funny and is even funnier because it is true… All dogs owners will agree with me, watch…
