Thinking about getting a dog? Dali Attacking Kermit The Frog
Sep 02

I have decided to get back to our blog and start posting in a regular basis. In order to post interesting articles and comments some research had to take place… and it did and I have to say that it paid off big time. I have come accross the LifeLine Animal Project of Atlanta and can’t even begin to describe the marvelous job they are doing for rescue pets by promoting homeless pets adoption, providing low cost spay and neuter services and working with local shelters so every dog and cat can be guaranteed a good life in a caring environment. There are some remarkable human biengs involved in this project and we from our tiny little places in the cyber space (this blog and our beloved www.becauseofdali.com) want to honor them, praise the work they do every day and let as many people as possible know about them. There are events coming up to benefit the Project (find them HERE), there is also the LINT ROLLER PARTY coming back for the 4th consecutive year to benefit LifeLine Animal Project, volunteers and donations are needed to help our most loyal of friends have the quality of life they deserve and we all must be willing to help any way we can, so; there, this is our little homage to the Project and everyone involved in it. Thank you for all your hard work. We are going to keep spreading the word about you; the world needs tons of more places like you. And that is what I consider a great come back posting for our blog, don’t you?

Have you ever been to there facility or really gotten to know this organization? While the overall ideal is good, there are many really bad things happening there, to the detriment of the animals that is heartbreaking. Some of there dogs are people aggressive and have been there for 4+ years while the paid, on staff “trainer” is just the directors girlfriend and won’t even work with some of the dogs that are there because she either cannot or does not want to. It is a heartbreaking place once you get into it and see them for who they truly are. There are many staff members there who truly care and are fighting the “good fight” for the animals, but unfortunately, those in charge, who ironically don’t even touch the animals, make poor decisions for the well being of the animals in their care. It is sad and needs to change.

Mmmmm… that is good to know. First of all, thanks for give us your opinion and the information about this Organization. I based my post in what I saw in their website. I have not been there in person but now that you mention the situation I’m curious to see what really goes on so I guess is time to go and see. Thanks for your input.

No problem. Just go in with your eyes open. It takes a while of being up there to figure out the truth, and that is why most people don’t. They make volunteers and their staff feel awful, prompting them to leave. They care more about their egos (I am only referring to those in charge, not the main staff who are incredible) than the animals. Don’t let the trainer or the director fool you. If you truly want to know about the organization, get in and volunteer regularly to see the real truth that lurks there. I do warn you, it is sad. You can ask anyone there about the dogs Ginger, Bear, Holly, Vince, Etta, Hank, Tyler and Abby and see what has been done for them…
